Paperback Writer. The Life and Times of The Beatles: The Spurious Chronicle of Their Rise to Stardom, Their Triumphs & Disasters, Plus the Amazing Story of Their Ultimate Reunion. 1st Ace Edition, 1980.

Mass Market Paperback. First Ace Printing, 1980. SUMMARY: "The finest novel ever written about rock and roll, it is certainly the funniest. Shipper's humor is incessant, sharp and usually nasty; he takes the reader through every stage of the Beatles' career, twisting each period until it has become a revelatory parody of itself. The book leaps straight out of the lunatic fringe of current Beatle-obsession. " -Greil Marcus, Village Voice. The author, Mark Shipper, wrote the "Pipeline" column in Phonograph Record Magazine as well as classic rock magazines such as Creem and Chic. He also edited and published Flash magazine in the early 1970s. Published: [1978, 1979] Ace Books, Inc (New York, NY). First Ace Books Edition, 1980. 254 pages. Contains photographs.
