4to, comrpising prefatory chapter, 6 separate papers and an appendix, 2 frontispiece lithographed views of Merchant Ventures School, Bristol [one double page], numerous lithographed plates throughout, mainly ground-plans of buildings, but including achitectural sections, furnishings, double page architectural drawings of St John's Wood High School for Girls, Foreign Missionaries College, Sevenoaks, Christ Church School, , Battersea, North London Collegiate School for Girls etc etc, all designed by the author, bound in contemporary half red morocco, spine gilt ruled with raised bands and double black labels, rubbed at joints and edges but sound, a very good clean copy, FIRST EDITION, a comprehensive and substantial survey of the work of this most importrant leading British architect in the field of technical education panning and building design. A work as highly specialized interest, produced almost entirely for institutional use and reference, this copy with Dyers Hall bookplate, and demonstrating in detail Victorian progress in these fields of technological education. E.C. Robins [1831-1918] was architect of many public buildings of the period, in particular instiutions of health and education related, the collective publication of these papers preceeding his standard textbook 'Technical School and College Building' which followed in 1887.
