A Parallel Bible complete with Bible Dictionary & Cities of the Bible. Containing the Authorized and Revised Versions and Old & New Testaments arranged in Parallel form--two columns per page. Text conformable to that of Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. A History of Ancient Biblical Manuscripts, with facsimiles of the same-the earliest printed editions of the Bible. This bible weighs 15 pounds and is 13"x11" by 5" wide. Bound in leather with gold gilt page edges all around--gold gilt lettering with 5 bands on the leather spine. Meant as a family bible--however this copy is unused with blank pages for Marriages, Births, Deaths, Marriage Certificate, Temperance Pledge and blank pages for the family portraits at the verso of the book-very unusual. This Bible is in remarkable condition for the age and size. There is some edgewear and rubbing to the leather covers and spine edges--although cannot be called a fine copy--it is in very good condition. Two publishers issued this version--O.A. Browning & Co in Toledo, Ohio and Potter, Chase & Co in Kansas City Missouri. more photos available upon request. Price includes media mail shipping in a box within the United States.
