Brown full leather binding with gilt decorations, raised bands etc, with edge-wear scratches and staining, split along the top spine edge so now in two pieces and the text block is no longer attached, but the text block remains in one piece. With 28 plates, 3 coloured and 1 double paged, including a geological plate plus a coloured folding general map, torn with sellotape marks on verso. Extra illustrations with 2 further portraits, a book plate, some light foxing of plates. The outer edge of the frontispiece is frayed. It is complete in itself. Please see photos.
