Long considered a classic among those who actually work in corporate succession, Passing the Baton is a comprehensive examination of corporate governance, and it was the first serious study of the processes guiding succession at the top levels of organizations. The work includes first-person accounts of 29 named executives intimately involved in succession at GE and other corporations. Board relationships are well covered. Highly recommended for senior executives, graduate students in business, industrial/organizational psychologists, and others who must strive to avoid the pitfalls and failures that characterize many high-visibility succession efforts. A well-preserved first edition, first printing. Clean, bright, no names or marks of any kind. Some very faint - if you look hard - small dots of foxing on the upper and lower edges. Dust jacket has no tears or scrapes but a bit of shelfware on the top and bottom edges.

Shipping terms
All books are shipped bubble-wrapped and boxed so they arrive in perfect condition. Each book shipped domestically is tracked. Shipping charges and delivery times are based on United States Postal Service estimates--the USPS says its estimates for international shipping times are based on shipping to "many major markets," so please bear that in mind if you do not live in a large city. If you order more than one item through us, the extra books will receive a 25% discount on shipping. If an order has special shipping requirements, such as if it is over-sized, we will contact the buyer with a request for extra charges before further processing.
Multi-volume book sets: When it comes to the cost of shipping, books that are multi-volume sets are usually treated as if the customer had ordered more than one item: that is, the first volume costs full price, with the extra volumes receiving a 25% discount. For example, a three-volume set will cost $10--$4 for the first volume, $3 for each of the other two volumes. The exception may be very large sets, such as encyclopedias. Those will have special requirements and we will contact the buyer about the shipping costs before processing the sale.
