Some light wear to the spine and some rubbing. The content is very good. An illustrated worldwide survey of bark cloth, or tapa, examining its production, decoration and cultural significance. It traces bark-cloth traditions across Oceania, Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America, comparing regional styles and techniques of beating, dyeing, painting and printing. The book also explores the social and ceremonial uses of bark cloth, the roles of men and women in its production, changes in decorative styles and the decline of traditional manufacture in some regions.
