B&W Illustrations; This is a smaller than trade sized booklet with cardstock covers and a stapled spine. The book is in Very Good- condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book covers have noticeable ground-in dirt and spotting, especially to the front cover. There is also a previous owner's inked name on the top edge of the front cover of the book. The text pages are generally clean and bright, however the first five pages or so have noticeable toning / tidemarking. The contents contain two essays by Garrett from the Saturday Evening Post: The Rescue of Germany and As Noble Lenders. There is also an introduction by the Chemical Foundation. "Garet Garrett (February 19, 1878 November 6, 1954) , born Edward Peter Garrett, was an American journalist and author, known for his opposition to the New Deal and U. S. Involvement in World War II.Garrett's most-read work is The People's Pottage, which consists of three essays. "The Revolution Was" portrays the New Deal as a "revolution within the form" that undermined the American republic. "Ex America" charts the decline in America's individualist values from 1900 to 1950. "Rise of Empire" argues that America has become an imperial state, incompatible with Garrett's views, "a constitutional, representative, limited government in the republican form." (from Wikipedia).
