First edition. Edited by Count Potocki of Montalk. Octavo. [32]pp. illustrated with four full-page woodcut illustrations, the original woodcuts are printed on different stock paper from the printed text, as issued by publisher. Stapled pictorial wrappers printed in red and black. Covers are lightly dust soiled, with light offset tanning on a few pages of text from the woodcut prints, else a near fine copy. Front cover prints a large woodcut by George Hahn of Potocki's royal coat of arms. Includes two "plywood study" prints by Count del Renzio and two "plywood cut" prints by Georg Hann. Artist Count del Renzio, (Toni del Renzio), was a Russian-born surrealist artist and art historian, who became an important member of the Surrealist movement in the United Kingdom. This issue prints various contributions, both poems and prose, by Potocki de Montalk, including 'Social Climbers in Bloomsbury II' (eight part installment), book reviews, including reviews of Aldous Huxley and W. B. Yeats, prints poems by D. S. Savage and Charles Maurras translated by Potocki de Montalk, etc. Number 7 is a desirable issue In the June, 1939 issue of *The Right Review* issued by poet Geoffrey Potocki de Montalk, who was born in Auckland, New Zealand; he moved to England in 1926 and settled in France in 1949. In 1932 he was "arrested after attempting to publish a manuscript of erotic translations of works by Rabelais and Verlaine, with three short bawdy verses of his own. The charge was 'obscene libel'. he was sentenced to six months in prison." The early issues were printed by Count Potocki de Montalk. Early issues of *The Right Review* are scarce.
