About the Author

Jerry Sander has worked with inner-city, suburban, and rural teenagers as a Certified Social Worker in private practice, in agencies, and in schools for the past 19 years. He currently works in a suburban public high school as a Student Assistance Counselor.

Born in Amityville, New York, he is a graduate of Oberlin College and has a Masters degree in Social Work from New York University. His completion of a M.F.A. program in Directing at the University of Washington, in Seattle, preceded a brief New York career in theater, which was the inspiration for his one-act play, The Way It Works.

Jerry is married and has four children. He and his family have lived in New York�s Hudson Valley since 1986. His second novel, Unlimited Calling (Certain Restrictions Apply) will hopefully be published soon and is intended for teens. A piano player since age six, Jerry still cannot walk past a keyboard without sitting down to pay tribute to some songs from his teen years. A motorcyclist since age eighteen, he finds northeastern winters challenging.

Jerry believes in the calming influence of guinea pigs and the spiritual superiority of dogs.
