All leaves which were joined at leading edge, as published, only recently carefully opened - ergo this copy is still awaiting its first reader. iv + 329pp. Thin gapping between Frontis and Title Page. Frontis, bust of RW 'by Anton zur Strassen in the foyer of the Leipsic Stadttheater' (with Fine tissue-guard), + 4 unnumbered full-page illustrations on Art paper, of The Author, Anton Seidl, Hedwig Reicher-Kindermann, and Facsimile of Letter from Wagner to Neumann, received after the news of Wagner's death (2 leaves). Predominantly tight, bright and clean with no markings or inscriptions. No age-toning or foxing of any degree - a few spots to prelims and Index, and following Illustration plates (not on the plates). Externally bright and clean with minimal indeed wear. Angelo Neumann was an operatic baritone and theatre director with an intimate association with Wagner and productions of his work. He died in 1910, just a year after the publication of this translation from 'Erinnerungen an Richard Wagner', which was first published in 1907. Wagner had died in 1883.
