First British edition, first printing; undated on title page verso. vii, 267 pp. with 13 plates including title and frontis. Bound in publisher's olive green cloth elaborately stamped in gilt. Near Fine with heavy foxing to text block edges and margins throughout, light foxing to verso of plates, and marginal chip to lower corner of pp. 65/66; binding strong and square. In scarce Near Fine dust jacket with toning to spine and upper edge, light shelfwear, tear to rear flap, and creasing and short tears to front panel repaired with Japanese paper on verso. The true first edition of the novel colloquially known as Peter Pan, which inspired the classic Disney animated film.
