A very scarce children's book concerning the protagonist Peter and his relationship with drawing. Illustrated throughout, with many examples of the character Peter's drawings. This work is a charming tale following Peter and his adventures with his pencil. A very scarce work, with only one on Copac held at the British library. Presumed first edition. In original cloth binding with a pictorial front board. Externally, bumped to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Rubbing to the joints and extremities. a few light marks to the boards. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, 'Arthur, 1956'. Front hinge is strained but firm. Offsetting to endpapers. Another, Small inscription to the recto of front free endpaper. Rear hinge is strained but firm. Prior owner's crayon drawing to the rear endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Spotting to the foredge with occasional spots to pages. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 568L37
