Front cover with 55mm tear with adhesive tape repair. Rear cover with a 40 and 30mm tear with adhesive tape repairs. Several 12mm tears to inner margins of covers and all leaves near the staples. Creasing to rear cover. Inside of front cover has "Phantom No 30" in ink and a small clipping of the phantom pasted in by previous owner, and a star design rubber stamp. A couple of rubber stamps on rear cover: "R D" on inside of rear cover, and a small decorative stamp on the outside of the rear cover below the publisher's imprint. Some foxing. Protected in mylar sleeve with alkaline buffered acid-free backing board.; Early New Zealand edition of "The Phantom" comic. 20 pages including covers. Cover in portrait format, while the contents are in landscape format. Page dimensions: 245 x 187mm. This issue contains the second of five parts of the story "The Thuggees" (Reference: Brian Shedden, "The Phantom: A Publishing History in New Zealand", online, accessed August 2024.).
