First edition, first printing. 283 pp. Bound in publisher's dark olive cloth with gilt lettering. Very Good, lightly worn at tips, binding overopened in places, a few reading smudges and some erased pencil to prelims. An illustrated nonfiction work proposing that the earth is hollow inside with openings at its poles, the interior of the earth containing "vast continents, oceans, mountains and rivers," according to the author. "Vegetable and animal life are evident in this New World, and it is probably peopled by races unknown to dwellers on the Earth's surface." A cornerstone of Hollow Earth and (its slightly more popular cousin) Lost Race mythology.
