A two page introduction precedes the five chapters previously published in The Nation and the Athenaeum plus nine further chapters and a conclusion never previously issued in England. Original cloth backed paper covered boards with a paper strip spine. Toned and rubbed title label on the spine. The boards are worn with rubbing and wear to the corners and edges.
