About this Item
12mo. 6"x4.5". Sewn butcher paper wraps. All volumes in very good condition with minor shelf wear to wraps, and several have unopened pages. This is a collection of 12 antique books hand-printed by the Roycrofters, the celebrated arts and crafts community of East Aurora, NY. This is the full 1912 run of the Philistine magazine. The Philistine ran from 1895-1915 and was largely a journal of satire, progressive political essays, and short literary works. Hubbard said the magazine was bound in butcher paper because "There is meat inside.". Seller Inventory # 4422
