Russell gives an account of his philosophical development from crude adolescent attempts at the age of 15 (in 1887 !) down to the mid-1950s. The text block is square and tightly bound with no spotting on any of the edges. The stain on the top edge is still present albeit a little faded. Internally the pages are spotless apart from a small, neatly pencilled previous resale price on the top right-hand corner of the ffep. The red cloth bound boards and silver lettering are in excellent condition and the edges and corners are all sharp. The priced dust jacket (18s. net) is undamaged apart from some very small areas of rubbing at the spine ends and the top front fold-in corner. The colours of the dj are strong and clear on the front panel although somewhat dulled on the spine panel. See five photos of this book.
