A Philosophical View of Reform (1920 First Edition)

First Edition (Oxford, 1920). First publication of Shelley's 'A Philosophical View of Reform' (1819-20). The page block is complete, the text unmarked (Clifton College bookplate affixed to the front pastedown), but the ORIGINAL boards are in VERY POOR condition. The front board is almost completely detached, the back board nearly so (prospective buyers should properly anticipate both being fully separated after packaging and transit), the spine is conspicuously abraded (webbing clearly visible, upper titling gone), the corners are bevelled and rubbed, and there are a number of incidental markings. Thus: a RARE true first edition, text block very good, but can really serve only as EITHER a reading or study copy, OR a collectible text for rebinding. With an Introduction and Appendix by T. W. Rolleston. Frontis, xi, 94pp.
