The cover image (1946) on this 146 page volume is by David Milne; as are the two clippings laid. in. The book covers over 30 painters; all but one are Canadian. And he had a long residency here. You will find - inter alia - L.L. Fitzgerald, Will Ogilvie and Pegi Nicol Macleod. About a third are reproduced in colour. David Milne was the author's brother. Cond : Boards are charcoal with gilt lettering at spine. Vewry light green end-papers. (One has a bookplate.) clean and bright. Tight in binding. No names nir marks. Black d.j. is worn at most edges. Almost collectible ! ! QUote (Introduction) : " Although he had already acquired various pictures in Europe and in Canada, my brother's collecting gained its chief momentum in 1936, when the Picture Loan Society was started in Toronto by a small group of friends who were perturbed by the fact that current, non-establishment artists were ._._._. . I can handle your credit card transactions ONLY through the ABE.commerce program. PAYPAL is also a workable option. We under rate the condition of our books, build cardboard shipping sleeves for protected shipping and respond promptly to requests and queries. Shipping and handling on all books is at the expense of the purchaser, and is often in the $12.95 per item range. Book weight and volume purchases will alter these conditions.
