B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 307 pages; 1967 Archon Books. HC/DJ. 1st American edition, thus. Soundly bound and clean in original pictorial dust jacket. Reissue of Hussey's pioneering work on Engish garden history, first published in 1927. This edition published with a new preface by the author. Jacket lightly shelf rubbed and worn with several shallow nicks and short closed tears at edges and a small sticker removal scar to the front panel. Superficial crimping to cloth at spine ends; trace rub to cloth at corner tips. Illustrated with b&w reproductions and photos. Uncommon in the original edition and this revised version. VG/VG-.
