Set in Tokyo, this thrilling novel follows Kawashima Masayuki as he tries to come to terms with his overwhelming desire to stab his infant child with an ice pick. He later resolves to divert the impulse into an unsuspecting prostitute, but as he plans this meticulous crime everything, including his past, begins to unravel. Written by Ryu Murakami, a Japanese novelist, essayist and filmmaker. Best known for his works Almost Transparent Blue, Audition, Coin Locker Babies, and In the Miso Soup. Translated by Ralph McCarthy, an American writer, lyricist, and translator. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine.
