Also laid in is some later order and pricing info from John Hass, Bettendorf, Iowa. 190 pp plus 2 pp adv, 16 fine full page chromolithographic plates with guards by Harrison Weir, 22 wood engraving. Publisher's green cloth with gilt scene of two pigeons on the front cover, beveled edges to cloth, all page edges gilt. The scarce first edition with the date of 1868 appearing on the title page. Foxing to the first few pages of the frontis matter including the frontis plate, as well as the last few pages and plate. Hinges cracked with some skewed pages that are hanging on. All pages present.
