The front hinge is badly broken in an unsightly way, holding only at the top; inside front cover has tear at top near hinge; the front cover is barely attached to the text block (one false move from coming loose altogether); archival document repair tape on inside front cover; bottom of spine is hurt and torn, with small area of cloth loose and sticking out; top of outer joint has a four-inch closed tear; former ownership name at top of free front endpaper and title page; several pages have top-corner crease; text clean; reading copy only. xii, 681 p., illustrated [B2:9:1].
