An undated likely First Everyman's Library edition, 1907. The famous Christian allegorical work in a compact Everyman's Library reprint edition. First published in two parts in 1678 and 1685; this single volume contains both, each preceded by the author's apology in verse. With an introduction by Rev. H. Elvet Lewis, which includes a few illustrations. Number 204 in Everyman's Library catalog in their Romance series, edited by Ernest Rhys. --- In "flatback" binding style 1, full blue cloth-covered boards with Reginald Knowles-designed spine titling & decorations in gilt, blindstamped J. M. Dent vignette to front cover, brown topstain and fancy Knowles woodcut art at title page & frontis. Lacks the dust jacket. --- With mild dulling to part of the spine decorations, some light chafing to cloth and prior owner's penciled name to front free endpaper, otherwise a tightly-bound, unmarked, sound copy.; 16mo (6 to 7 in. tall); xx, 383 pages.
