1st this Editiion. HB. Red cloth boards. Impressed blue illust of highly decorative stage with cinderella type figures either side a dancing cat and dog on front. Blue titles spine. Colour illustd end papers of animals and figure puppets. Black and red diamond edge. f/c frontis: 'It frightened one to look at him'. Pinocchio looking very frightened up at the huge, horrible puppeteer. Lovely b/w line illustrations throughout. Foreward by Compton Mackenzie. Nicest copy I have seen of Pinocchio for a long time. Condtion. Slight cover side, corner wear. Erased pencil o/p. Clean. Tight binding. Good colour. V little wear. VGC.
