Item description from seller

Lembach: 2024. First edition, in the limited deluxe binding designed and executed by Elbel himself. The first edition is limited to 110 printed copies, with 10 copies bound, signed and numbered: this being number 4 of 10. Pp. [2] 1-63 [2]. Binding is calf and paper with a foiled design, suede doublures in a custom decorative paper and calf slip case. This deluxe edition is bound by Elbel himself in the technique it describes. Crafted with black calfskin, ohcre foil, and orange suede doublures, the book serves as both instruction and demonstration of the binding's aesthetic and functional possibilities. Benjamin Elbel (b. 1983), a French bookbinder with a background in illustration, trained at the 'Centro del bel libro' in Ascona, Switzerland, and with various fine bookbinding firms in Germany and England. He established his own business in 2012, first in London, then in the Netherlands, and since 2023 in Lembach, France. His Pixel binding has been recognized internationally, with documentation published in the Guild of Book Workers Journal (Vol. 49, 2020) and the technique taught at major bookbinding schools. This edition represents a significant contribution to contemporary bookbinding practice.
