Small manual on running a library, in Japanese; a typed note laid in explains that it was written as a thesis for the Wisconsin Library School in 1910, published as a State Document in South Dakota, and later by the Boston Book Company; then noticed by a Japanese student studying in America, who asked the author if he could translate it for use in Japan; the original author gave this Japanese edition (with some other material) to the Wisconsin Library School in 1936; a pencilled note on the back says "we have this in English" with its call numbers, effectively a terse explanation of how it got into my hands. Still, an interesting example of the diffusion of scholarly knowledge through the academosphere. INSCRIBED by the original author on the half-title page. Hardcover, light wear but a few bumps to edges & corners. Text clean; xi, blank, 76, [6] pages. Text in Japanese. Size: 5¼" by 7¾". Seller Inventory # t0446
