Store description
I am a private seller living in Hua Hin, Thailand and offering a curated and continuously expanding collection of books focused on China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. The selection includes works on art, symbolism, religion, anthropology, textiles, history, travel, cultural studies, and regional literature. The collection continues to grow, and future additions will include more titles on religion, religious iconography, spiritual traditions, philosophy, and related cultural fields. A significant portion of the inventory carries an important provenance: Books numbered MKK-001 to MKK-102 come from the personal library of W. Koslowski, also known as K. Flow, author of The Chinese Encounter with Opium. His collection reflects deep interests in Chinese cultural history, opium studies, Taiwan, and Southeast Asian societies. Every book is individually inspected, catalogued, and described according to AbeBooks condition standards. Descriptions include details on binding, covers, dust jackets, interior markings, and any signs of age or wear. As a private seller, I aim for honest, transparent, and accurate listings. Additional photographs or clarification are available on request. All orders are packed securely using protective materials to ensure safe international delivery. Shipping prices reflect actual postal costs plus packaging. Combined shipping is possible when appropriate, and orders are dispatched promptly. Customer communication is an essential part of my service. I try to respond quickly to enquiries regarding editions, condition, provenance, availability, or shipping options. My goal is to provide a trustworthy, smooth, and positive buying experience for readers, researchers, collectors, and anyone with an interest in the cultures of Asia. Thank you for visiting MKK Books by Mike Hua Hin. I hope you discover something meaningful for your collection as this unique library continues to grow and evolve.…

Shipping terms
International Shipping & Delivery
Shipping Origin and Processing
All books are dispatched from Hua Hin, Thailand.
Orders are normally prepared and dispatched within two business days after confirmation. International shipments are handled through Thailand Post or another suitable postal or courier service, depending on destination, parcel weight, declared value and customs requirements.
Tracked shipping is used whenever required by AbeBooks or the selected shipping arrangement.
Shipping Methods and Delivery Times
Standard shipping generally uses an appropriate tracked international postal service, including ePacket, registered airmail or other eligible services.
Priority shipping, where offered, uses a suitable expedited service, such as EMS or an international courier.
Delivery estimates are displayed during checkout and depend on the destination and selected shipping method. Customs inspections, international transport disruptions and local postal conditions may affect actual delivery times.
Shipping Charges
International shipping charges are based on the destination, weight, packaging requirements, available postal services and applicable customs arrangements.
Particularly heavy, oversized, fragile or multi-volume orders may require special packaging or an alternative shipping service. If an adjustment is necessary, the buyer will be contacted through AbeBooks before dispatch, and any change will be handled in accordance with AbeBooks’ procedures.
Combined shipping may be possible for multiple-book orders where practical and permitted by the relevant shipping service.
Packaging
Each order is packed individually, with protective wrapping, rigid exterior protection and moisture-resistant materials where appropriate.
Special care is taken with older, collectible and fragile publications.
European Union — DDP and Customs
Under current AbeBooks seller requirements, qualifying shipments from outside the EU to EU buyers with a consignment value of €150 or less must be sent on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis with tracking.
For these shipments, the applicable import duties, customs charges and handling fees must be prepaid through an appropriate shipping arrangement. AbeBooks’ IOSS information is supplied to the carrier where required to facilitate the correct treatment of import VAT.
Shipments exceeding €150 fall outside this specific AbeBooks mandatory-DDP threshold and may be subject to different import procedures. Unless import charges are expressly included in the selected service, the buyer may be responsible for import VAT, customs duties and clearance fees.
United States — Customs Regulations
Shipping to the United States is subject to current import regulations and the conditions of the available postal and courier services.
Shipping options may depend on the book’s declared value, parcel weight and destination. Where the selected service includes prepaid import charges, these are handled through the carrier. Otherwise, applicable charges may be payable by the recipient.
Other International Destinations
For destinations outside the European Union, import duties, local taxes and customs-clearance fees may be payable by the recipient unless the selected shipping arrangement explicitly includes them.
Customs declarations are completed using the accurate description and value of the books. Commercial orders cannot be misdeclared as gifts or undervalued.
