This is another installment in the series of mystery fiction featuring the detective, Ellery Queen. "Ellery Queen" also happens to be the pseudonym of authors and cousins Frederic Dannay (1905-1982) and Manfred Bennington Lee (1905-1971). Dannay and Lee are perhaps better-known by their professional names, Daniel Nathan and Emanuel Benjamin Lepofsky, respectively. They specialized in detective fiction and wrote about forty novels and short story anthologies featuring the character of Ellery Queen. The Ellery Queen series was one of the most popular and successful mystery fiction series in the twentieth century. The Player on the Other Side was written by Dannay, Lee, and ghost-writer Theodore Sturgeon. This title features Ellery Queen embarking on solving another murder mystery.
