At last the secret history of golf(e) is revealed. It was invented by witches! In this romp through history the book describes the first golf(e) shot by a shepherd, observed by his faithful dog; the YIK tournament, whose winner is unknown because of "liquid fermented corn"; the significance of the Macbeth-Duncan rivalry for golf(e; why the English deserve credit for helping create the great course at Bannockburn.
The book is cleverly illustrated with over 100 pictures by renowned Ohio artist Walter Kaye.
The author was born in Chicago, the son of school teachers. He grew up in East Chicago, Indiana where he worked in steel mills, an oil refinery, and as a truck driver. He is a graduate of DePauw University. and attended St. Andrews University in Scotland for one year.
After a career of government service, in contracts and grants, Mr. Cash worked in the private sector. He was co-founder of three successful small businesses.
In 1998 he publishe his first book, Unsung Heroes, about U. S. presidents from Ohio. It is a regional best-seller and should soon go into its fifth printing. For that book he appeared on C_SPAN's Book Notes.
Mr. Cash lives with his wife in Kettering, OH. He is currently working on a book using Parkinson and others' laws relating to his own government service.
