Weltman, better known by his informal first name Manny, was an authority on Harry Houdini. He also published an Oz related book. Inscription in blue ink dated 1962. Book is good with front hinge having a 1/2" tear at top. Slight corner bumps. In a FAIR dust jacket with a 3" ragged tear in middle of spine and some additional edge wear and tears, and rubbing. Book itself contains a little red ballpoint (small notation to FFEP, a few notes to rear endpapers, small amount of notation and underlining to first few pages as well as to the last few pages). DJ (Denslow illustration) shows only light wear to extremities + spine just a little fading of pea-green background, a very small scuff to spine, a tiny image-pick to back panel & a few tiny splits at spine (2 top, 1 bottom). Two sections of photos (including scenes, actors and actresses from the 1902 musical + artist Denslow and composer Tietjens at work, Baum the actor, Baum the gardener, etc.).
