First Edition (first printing). Slim 8vo. 70pp. Black cloth lettered in gold at the spine and upper board. Clifford Dyment's copy, with his contemporary ownership name pencilled to the head of the front free endpaper. A little spotting to four or five concluding leaves. A very good copy. No dust wrapper. Fifty-one poems, the author's uncommon first collection of verse. Ian Macdonald Horobin (1899-1976) was a British Conservative Party politician, and a veteran of the First and Second World Wars. He served with the Royal Naval Reserve and the Royal Air Force during the Great War, and rejoined the RAF during WWII, serving as a Squadron Leader until he was captured, imprisoned and tortured by the Japanese. He was imprisoned once more in later life, serving four years for homosexuality and indecent assault. He was great friends with John Betjeman, who penned the introduction to his 'Collected Poems' (1973). Seller Inventory # BC17041
