Poems to Mary

93 pages. Portrait frontispiece of Mary Louisa Hanaghan. Original publisher's calf backed paper covered boards with unclipped dust jacket. Jonathan Hanaghan was described as a pioneer in modern life and thought. In 1942 he founded the Irish Psycho-Analytic Association at Monkstown Co. Dublin. In 'Poems to Mary' he presents a group of verses inspired through the pain and suffering following the death of his wife, Mary Louisa Hanaghan. They illustrate his own intuition that only they that mourn are comforted, that they who turn aside from mourning receive consolation, which does not heal. *** Rare to be found with a complete dust jacket, that gives details of the Ruana Press 'Poetry Quartos' and other publications. *** Some wear and chipping to dust jacket, otherwise a near fine copy without any library stamps, inscriptions or other markings.
