A very scarce work.The first edition of this work.A collection of six short poems by Thomas Hennell.Containing 'Jacob's Dream', 'Written on the Longest Day of the Year Which Was Given to Fruit-Picking', 'A Sea Painting by Peter Bruegel I', 'Winter Colours in the Wood at Rathcoursey', 'Tree Planter's Spell', and 'Hercules Seghers'.Hennell was a British artist and poet, known for his works on the British countryside. He was killed in action in Indonesia in 1945.Publisher's typed note loosely inserted, noting that Hennell was taken prisoner during the war and, by 1947, they still had no news on him.
