First edition. Slim green cloth lettered and decorated in white and black. Illustrated with humorous sketches by Booth Tarkington, William P. Bell and Harold Imbrie. Collection of breezy, humorous poems about Princeton University sports around the turn of the 20th century. . The title piece is a football-related poem as is the next, "Poe's Kick"; also includes "Kelly's Hit", a "Casey At The Bat"-style poem about a Princeton-Yale baseball game and "Steinwender's Catch" (also baseball). Very good, spotting to the cloth, especially the rear cover. Ownership signature of a member pof the Princeton Class of 1902 and date of 12/1/04 on the front free endpaper. The front pastedown bears the '02 Class members stamp and there is also affixed a bookplate from a descendant who was a member of the Class of '36.
