Poet Power: The Complete Guide to Getting Your Poetry Published is the complete guide to publishing poetry and a motivational gem for every poet. It's a must-read for aspiring poets and published poets who want to expand their market. Author Thomas Williams removes the mystery with a step-by-step explanation of the business of poetry publishing, how to get your poetry noticed, and what magazine and book editors want, including the "9 secrets of publishable poetry."
The comprehensive Poet Power includes numerous other topics, such as: designing and publishing your own books of poetry; editing your own chapbook series; selling poetry to bookstores, retail outlets, and catalogs; promoting and selling at your own poetry readings; getting media attention as a published poet; how to market yourself as a published poet; becoming a speaker on poetry in the community; a poet's guide to the Internet, and much more.
Williams' authoritative but accessible style comes from his own experience. Not only has he had his literary works published, but he also built a successful publishing company from scratch.
Poet Power is the only comprehensive guide to the practical business of poetry publishing and an inspiration to poets everywhere not just to do their best work, but to get it published too.

About the Author
In 1979, he bought the Mecklenburg Gazette, a weekly newspaper in North Carolina. In three years, he increased circulation 400% and revenues by 1000%, and sold out to a newspaper chain for 50 times the purchase price. Subsequently, he founded Venture Press.
He started and published many magazines, including Tar Heel: The Magazine of North Carolina (state-wide), the New East Magazine, NCEast Magazine, and Washington Magazine. He published association directories and chambers of commerce "quality of life" magazines, newcomer guides, and tourism guides.
Williams is a student of hard knocks. He learned how to position his publications for success on his own and shares his knowledge with us in his books.
