A very scarce poetry work from the pupils of George Washington High School, including the first appearance of Delmore Schwartz. First edition. Very scarce. In the publisher's original cloth binding. A delightful collection of poetry written by the pupils of George Washington High School in their poetry club and classes. This edition includes the first appearance of American poet and short story writer Delmore Schwartz with the early titles "E. A. P. - A Portrait", "The Saxophone", "Automobile" and "Darkness". In the publisher's original cloth binding. Signature of the previous owner to both the front and rear paste downs. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, leading to minor loss of cloth at the spine head of tail, as well as light creasing to the spine tips. Subtle sunning along the spine and the odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Very bright and clean with only the odd spot, more common to the first and last few pages. Very Good.
