Charles Scribner's Sons. New York. 1924. 363 pages. First edition, 1st printing. Original uncommon, rare DJ with $2.00 price intact on flap. Book is about fine. Square, tight and clean. Binding and hinges are strong. Clean endpapers with some faint toning from DJ flaps. Shallow chipping at crown and tiny chips at fold tips. Rare in any condition. In April 1924, Sherman became editor of “Books,” the literary supplement to the New York Herald Tribune, which became under his editorship the leading American critical journal of the day.
