An elderly but dignified and still robust copy of Popper's classic and devastating criticism of the belief in the laws of history, or laws of social development, or laws of progress. The black cloth-bound boards are unmarked apart from a few light coloured specks on the back panel, and there are no scratches, dents or bumps; all edges are straight, all corners sharp. The text block is square and tightly bound. Internally, the pages are clean and bright apart from a some faint spotting on the end papers, the half title page and its facing page; also a small spidery signature on the front paste down and a previous resale price on the ffep. The dust jacket is intact but there are some small closed tears and tape reinforcements to the top and bottom of the inside of the spine panel. The signature noted above on the front paste down is repeated on the bottom of the front fold-in flap of the dj. There is a small, square, blue label on the front panel - unexplained. The original publishers price (16s.) is still present. See five photos of this book (the maximum number enabled by Abe) and do please ask for more if additional views would help.…
