A very nice copy for its age of this comprehensive guide to building, carpentry, and decorating from the 1950s. This appears to be the first edition of the combined volume and has the following on p. v: "The three parts of this book first appeared as separate volumes in the 'Building Students Series', and in that form have established a reputation for themselves in Schools of Building throughout the country". No Dust Jacket. Cover: orange coloured cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to spine; some staining and bumping to all edges commensurate with age and use but otherwise remarkably clean and bright. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; some darkening to page edges but text and illustrations clean and bright; library stamps from Nottingham Public Libraries to rear of title page, no other inscriptions. Black and white line drawn illustrations throughout. Each part paginated separately. Part 1: Walls, partitions and foundations x, 246 pp. Part 2: Carpentry and Joinery iv, 268 pp. Part 3: Painting and decorating iv, 232 pp.
