A serviceable, even presentable, copy of the 1901 1st edition of this important turn-of-the century golf instructional. A bright but Good only copy, with a cracked front hinge and two loose sheets (the frontispiece and the title/copyright page). The next 1 to 2 signatures are very tender as well but, afer that, the binding firms up dramatically. A bit of soiling to the green boards but the gilt-titling and design at the front panel and spine are sharp and bright. A touch of minor soiling too at the endsheets and pastedowns. Octavo, top-edge gilt, 21 crisp black-and-white photos complementing Walter Travis's text. Seller Inventory # 23508
