Green cloth with gilt titles & cover decoration; 12mo; 114 + 6pp ads and 32-pp publisher's catalog at rear; illustrated with 8 text drawings plus 4 fold-out plates. An early book on fish rearing and management with chapters on food, enemies of trout, weed management, fish ladders, etc. This copy from the defunct Mercantile Library of New York with their stamps on the title page and carefully placed on blank spaces within text. Their books did not circulate and were read "in house" and therefore are usually found in terrific condition, mostly with no outside markings. Seller Inventory # 006243

Hunting contains works on African, Asian and North American big game; bird shooting-both upland and waterfowl; plus sporting dogs.
