There were two different publisher’s bindings for the London edition. The author spent most of his time in America traveling through Wyoming, Montana, Washington Territory, California, Nevada. Herd 2057, Rader 2920, Graff 3751, Howes 389, Reese Six-Score 97, "An Englishman's observations on ranching in America. Shepherds book added fuel to the cattle boom fever in England when published."
