Praying the Psalms Volume Two: Praying our Challenges and Choices: A Twelve Week Program for Individuals and Small Groups

Praying the Psalms Volume Two - Praying our Challenges and Choices - follows on from Volume One, Learning to Pray.
The book is a practical devotional tool for engagement with God. It's effectively a personal prayer journal that teaches you the ancient Hebraic way of dialogue with God by praying David's inspired prayers. Today it is commonly known as lectio divina, the simple method of prayerful reading of scripture - how to interactively 'hear God' in psalm meditation.

Volume Two, Praying Our Challenges & Choices, has a comprehensive introduction to the psalms, then presents twelve psalms as a twelve-week program of prayer-meditation. They are designed for both individuals and small groups.

Each psalm has a brief introduction followed by probing questions and space to record your prayerful responses and reflections. The psalms are specifically chosen to equip you to work with daily challenges and make right choices… with God. Not to react to situations and people, but to respond to God. To pray disappointment, suffering, tears, fear, sickness, depression, doubt, and anger. You will learn to pray your living and live your praying.

Gillian Venter, editor of the manuscript, said, “This book invites us into real relationship with God. We are led into honest prayer-dialogue, forming our experience of God in daily life. It is whole-person-engagement, in thought, word and deed.”
