Add to basket1st printing of the true first edition. A paperback original published in 1964. Midwood F371 with a cover price of 50c. Original cover art by Paul Rader. At the time of listing this was the only copy of the first edition on the site. A later edition was published in 1968. Cover printed in the U.S. and the text in Canada. A lesbian novel and "A daring excursion into the world of exotic bondage . . . She was eager to be taught each new step of the strangely illicit dance of desire." A pleasing copy. The artwork is bright. Minor shelf wear to the surface of the covers. Spine roll and a reading crease along the spine edge of the front cover. Previous owner's initials printed at the top edge of the reverse side of the front cover with a blue ballpoint pen. The binding remains supple. The exposed page edges are stained red and there has been some bleed to the edges of the last half-dozen pages and the fore-edge of the back cover. Corners of the covers softened. Supplied in a fitted, polypropylene bag. The mass market paperback was created in 1939 by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, and in less than 100 years the format is being discontinued by distributors and publishers. That has generated renewed interest in paperback originals with original cover art.
