Book condition: good, very scarce first edition, an introduction to Isaac Pitman's system of phonetic shorthand with a series of original exercises written principally in the simple characters of the phonographic alphabet, without contraction, feature illustrations of shorthand throughout, and show scuffing and bumping to corners, spine shows .75" piece missing off head, .25" off tail, a few pencil marks on front pastedown, signature on ffep with red marks including a large C, moderate soiling to a few pages otherwise interior clean, hinges are cracked with play, 86 pages followed by three pages of testimonials, 5.5 X 7.75 inches.
