Blue cloth covered boards with silver gilt illustration on front panel and silver gilt-stamped lettering on spine. Boards are clean. Small rub-throughs on corners at head and tail of board spine, fore-edge corners are scuffed. External page edges are age-toned. Board panels are slightly bowed. Illustrated blue and black end-papers. Many blue and black illustrations. Text margins are age-toned. Two tiny dots/stains in the margins else internally clean. Text block is snug. Dust jacket has shelf wear soil and scuffs. Jacket spine is sunned, also front and back panels to a lesser degree. Spine and fore-edge folds are scuffed; one small rub-through on the upper end of the front fore-edge fold. Chips and rubs with small amount of loss along edges at head and tail of jacket spine. Horizontal creasing, small closed tears, and rubs along upper edge of front jacket panel; smaller closed tears and less creasing on upper edge of back jacket panel. Lower edge of back jacket panel has a 3/8" closed vertical tear with adjacent diagonal creases. Fore-edge corners are chipped and rubbed.
