First printing. Tall 4to. xvi, 111 pp. Profusely illustrated with plates. Original gilt-stamped black cloth binding. Some non authorial inscriptions on endpapers. John Wheeler Dowden (1866-1936) was surgeon at Chalmers Hospital, and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary in Scotland. Some wear at the extremities, scratch top of rear cover, very good.
