Ex-libris James D. Wardle with his usual markings, labels, and ink stamps on the spine and front pastedown. Wardle amassed an impressive library and was often called the "Socrates of State Street" [Salt Lake City, Utah]. Circulating library stamp on the title page and several pages within the text. Pages darkened with age. A first edition of "The Principles of Astrological Geomancy" by German medical doctor, theosophist, occultist, geomancer, astrologer and author Franz Hartmann (1838-1912). Hartmann was a central figure in Theosophy.
