First published in Welsh in 1940 under the title 'Llygad y Drws: Sonedau"r Carchar '.In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper.This volume features Thomas Evan Nicholas' sonnets written during his time in prison, with this edition featuring the English translation of the poems, translated by Daniel Hughes and others. Nicholas was imprisoned during the Second World War with his son, charged with fascism, but were soon released after protests broke out demanding their release. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent. Lacking front free endpaper. The wrap is very smart with sunning to the spine, chipping to the extremities, and two small closed tears to the spines.
